shift between four teams at various levels in the Swedish Hockey League,
Mike. Please stop this bullpoop narrative. This is a practiced move done by many high ranking prospects coming out of Sweden to play a full schedule. They use weekend games to play in the SuperElit, then go back to the Elitserien, then when the Elitserien has its break they are loaned to the Allsvenskan to play a few games and brought back then play the JuniorElit to be available for the playoffs if their Elitserien and/or SuperElit teams miss.

It's not a detriment and never has been. - AdamFrench
European hockey leagues have a very soccer influenced set-up. It'd be interesting to see if one of them changed to be more like the OHL/AHL/NHL with a 70-80 game schedule.

Don't think it's profitable. They get run over by the soccer market and need that tiny window when it's too cold.

I thought I read somewhere (possibly PPP profile on liljegren) where he now has done his focusing on his defensive game that this year he's going to push his offensive game again. He still has the ability to rush the puck, but now has that mindset to be able to recover if there is a turnover.
I'd like to see him start with the Marlies, get his offensive game back a bit and then make the leap to the leafs. He is still an intriguing player.

Also, should be ahead of Bracco in this ranking. - matt1337

Leafs did a great job of handling Liljegren. They made him focus completely on his defensive game in the AHL, instead of waiting until the NHL, like they did with Rielly.

Him being lower than #2 is crazy speak. - GreatGigInTheSky
The leafs have done an amazing job of creating two-way players (not sure why they haven't had that focus with Bracco). They did it with Kapanen, Johnsson and Moore. Probably could've helped Nylander with it a bit more as well but he only spent half a season with them.
Bracco not being relied on as a two-way player is what moves him below Liljegren, maybe even a bit further down the list.

Wouldn’t surprise me at all. If Babs is putting his 2 cents in down there then that’s exactly what is happening.
We watched it with Rielly and it seemed to work out well. I know he isn’t a top shutdown defenceman but I’m sure he has come a long way from where he would’ve been had they not tried this approach.

I think they were focused more on trying to sustain success.
Also, last year was Bracco's first full season of playing and being "the guy" and not being the guy that would get healthy scratched here and there (especially in the playoffs).
I fully expect that he'll be leaned on more to heighten his defensive game this coming season.
